What a Guide can be used for

A Guide in Scratcher is used to inform, instruct, or inspire users. It’s perfect for sharing context, campaign rules, product information, or step-by-step instructions.

✈️ Travel & Tourism – Highlight destinations, share travel tips, or present step-by-step booking instructions.

🛍️ Retail & E-commerce – Showcase product collections, explain how to redeem rewards, or introduce seasonal offers.

🎓 Education & Training – Provide learning materials, onboarding steps, or interactive tutorials.

🍽️ Food & Beverage – Tell the story behind a new menu, guide users through a loyalty program, or present pairing suggestions.

How to Add a Guide Page to the Campaign Flow

Although a guide is not a standalone game, it must still be added via the Game Elements section. To do this:

  1. Go to the Campaign Flow.

  2. Click New Page.

  3. Select Interactive Graphic — this serves as a template for how the guide will be structured.

Editing the Game and Quiz Settings

To configure the game:

  1. Navigate to the Game section and click the green button to open the Quiz Manager.

  2. Select Edit Game to access the game’s settings.

You can mix different types of content — such as text, images, and video — with a variety of answer formats including multiple choice, text input, or ratings. This setup is ideal for creating quizzes, guides, or surveys.

Quiz Manager Settings

At the bottom of the Quiz Manager page, you’ll find additional game settings. These include options to:

  • Allow users to return to previous questions

  • Display custom text after an answer is submitted

  • Require a button click to continue

  • Show a "Previous" button

  • Enable group functionality

Creating Questions and Results

To set up your questions and outcomes:

  1. In Edit Quiz, click New Question to add a question.

  2. Click New Result to define an outcome or result screen.

  3. Add descriptions and assign names to each.

You can also insert an image or video between a question and its answer options by selecting Question Settings.

Game Settings

At the bottom of the page, you’ll find game settings that enable the following options:

  • Option to go back to previous questions

  • Option to display text after an answer

  • Require the participant to click a button to move to the next question

  • Show the "Previous" button

For each question, you can define which result page (e.g., Result 1 or Result 2) the answer leads to, based on the number of points.

Result Pages

You can either set up a single result page for all answers or create multiple result pages to show different outcomes depending on how users respond.

Define correct answers using points. For example, if you have 3 questions, the possible outcomes might be Result 1, Result 2, or Result 3.

Add content to your result pages, including a call-to-action (CTA) button that links to another page or URL.

FYI: There's a feature called ‘Custom Page’ that lets you redirect users to another game — for example, as a reward for scoring 5 out of 5. This acts as an alternative result page if you've used the ‘Finish’ page as your result.

Under ‘Content’, you can style questions, answers, and result pages consistently — including font size, color, text style, spacing, etc. These settings apply across all relevant sections.

Remember, you can view the different pages as either a ‘Question + Answer’ page or a ‘Result’ page down here. The dropdown below will then display all related pages.

The ‘Button’ section under Style allows you to apply consistent styling to all buttons.

The Progress Bar can be turned on or off. It adjusts automatically based on the number of questions.

And then you can style it in 'Style':

FYI: For mobile styling, go to the section in the game flow, press ‘Section’, then go to ‘Content’ > ‘Settings’, and choose ‘Custom’ to adjust question width.

Prizes (Winning Options)

There are two main prize setups, configured under ‘Game Settings’:

  • Random Draw – A winner is selected at the end of the campaign.

  • Instant Win – Disables result pages. Instead, users are immediately shown whether they’ve won.

See more information about pricing setup here: Creating a Prize in Scratcher and Email Setup.

FYI: You can access the preview and live URL for testing. Remember to clear test data. You can also set participation frequency limits.

Game Data

You can view a full overview of participants and game data, including detailed results for each question.

This includes:

  • What each user answered

  • Answer distribution (in percentages)

  • Which result page each user landed on

When exporting or sending data, both the questions and user answers are included.

FYI: If you need a different setup, you can change the game type under ‘Change Game Type’ and see the different ones here: Which Quiz Format Is Right for You?

The rest follows the standard campaign setup, where you design the full flow—including the overall campaign structure, prize pages, and emails if needed.

For each question, you define whether an answer is correct or incorrect. You can also add an internal name for data tracking (used in exports/integrations).

Advanced Settings

  • Enable ‘Allow multiple answers’ under Question Settings.

Result Pages

You can set up a single result page for all questions. Define the correct answers, e.g., for 3 questions, the scoring range would be 0–3. If you want different result pages depending on performance, e.g., 0–1 correct = Result Page A, then you can create multiple result pages accordingly.

You can add an image or video between the question and the answers via ‘Question Settings’.

You can display the number of correct answers using this tag: {GAME_CORRECT_ANSWERS}.

Add a call-to-action button (CTA) linking to another page or URL.

FYI: There is a feature called ‘Custom Page’ that allows you to redirect a user to another game, for example as a reward if they score 5 out of 5 – this is an optional feature.

Styling

You can edit the styling under ‘Questions’ and/or ‘Results’ to access individual question or result pages.

Under ‘Content’, questions, answers, and results can be styled consistently — including font size, color, text font, spacing, etc. These styling settings apply across all related sections.

Same options are available for ‘Result Pages’.

The ‘Button’ section under Style allows you to apply consistent styling to all buttons.

The Progress Bar can be turned on or off — it adjusts automatically based on the number of questions.

FYI: For mobile version styling, select the section, go to ‘Content’ > ‘Settings’, then choose ‘Custom’ to adjust question width.

Prizes (Winning Options)

There are two main prize setups, both configured under ‘Game Settings’:

See more information about pricing setup here: Creating a Prize in Scratcher and Email Setup.

You can choose:

  1. Random draw – a winner is selected at the end of the campaign.

  2. Instant-win – disables result pages. Instead, users are shown prize pages immediately, depending on whether they’ve won or not.

FYI: You can access the preview and live URL for testing. Remember to clear test data. You can also set participation frequency limits.

Game Data

You get an overview of participants and game data, showing detailed results for each question.

This includes what users answered, answer distribution (percentages), and the result page they landed on (if there are multiple).

When exporting or sending data, both the questions and answers from the quiz are included:

FYI: If you need a different setup, you can change the game type under ‘Change Game Type’ and see the different ones here: Which Quiz Format Is Right for You?
