Electronic signatures

The signatures process is flexible on Sea/contracts.  Both principals (or their ‘agents’) can sign electronically or just one party or neither.
Making use of the e-signature functionality is a cost effective and speedy solution to getting fully executed documents.

Once the CP is in FINAL status i.e. approved by all parties, the option to sign electronically becomes available under the date/time stamp of the approval.

Click Sign Electronically to sign the document within DocuSign’s interface.

The first time you use DocuSign, you will need to set up an e-signature.  Once created, this can be dragged into the relevant place in the document.

Click Finish to e-sign the document.

If a Counterparty is not on the system, the Broker can perform the following on their behalf :

a.  When one party has e-signed the document, that e-signed document can be downloaded and emailed to the other party. The e-signed document can be found under the Approvals.

b.  Tracking the signature status can be done by selecting appropriately from the drop down, e.g. Sent to Owner/Owner’s Rep under Signature status.

c. The Counter party can physically sign the document received by email, scan it and send a copy back (or courier, as appropriate). * Receipt of the signed document can also be tracked by selecting, e.g. Received signed copy from Owner/Owner’s Rep under Signature status.

d. The duly signed document can then be added under Attachments, by simply uploading the document.
