Pod FAQ’s

Here are answers to common questions about how Pods work in Sequence—from checks and cards to transfers and external integrations.

Can I Write Checks from My Pods?

Yes. Each Pod is a real checking account, so you can write checks from it—just like any standard bank account.

We don’t supply physical checks directly, but you can order them from third-party providers like Costco, Vistaprint, or Checks Unlimited.

Just use the Pod’s account and routing number when placing the order.

Are Pods Real Bank Accounts?

Absolutely. Every Pod is backed by a real checking account provided by Thread Bank, an FDIC-insured partner.

That means you can:

  • Receive direct deposits

  • Make and receive ACH transfers

  • Connect to payroll and finance tools

  • Track account-level balances and transactions

Can I Link a Pod to External Apps?

Yes, since each Pod has its own banking credentials (account and routing number), you can:

  • Connect it to payroll systems (e.g. Gusto, ADP)

  • Use it for direct deposit setup

  • Add it to accounting or finance platforms like Quickbooks

Just copy the banking details from the Pod’s Banking Details section.

Can I Have Multiple Pods?

Yes. You can create as many Pods as you need. Many users organize Pods by:

  • Team or department

  • Spend category (e.g. travel, subscriptions, contractors)

  • Funding source or initiative

There’s no extra cost to create new Pods.

Are Pod Balances Insured?

Yes. All funds held in Pods are FDIC insured (up to applicable limits) through Thread Bank.

Debit Card FAQ’s

Virtual cards cannot be used at ATMs.

What Are the Daily Spending Limits?

Each debit card has a daily spending cap to protect your funds.

  • Daily purchase limit: $5,000

These limits apply per card, across all transaction types.

How Do I Freeze or Unfreeze a Card?

To freeze a card (e.g. if it’s misplaced):

  1. Click on the card in your Cards section or from within the Pod.

  2. Select Freeze card.

You can unfreeze it at any time from the same screen.

Can I Replace a Lost or Stolen Card?

Yes. To report and replace a lost or stolen card:

  1. Click on the affected card.

Can I Have Multiple Cards for the Same Pod?

Totally. Just go click on the pod you want to issue a card for, head back to the button where you issued your first card and issue another!

Can I Have One Card for Multiple Pods?

Yes! That’s exactly what an Omni Card is for.

Omni Cards can draw from multiple Pods based on whichever pod it’s currently linked to. You can create and manage them from the Cards section on your map.

When and Where Do I Receive Cashback?

If you're on a Pro or Premium plan, you earn 1–1.2% cashback on eligible purchases.

  • Cashback is paid out monthly to a Sequence Rewards pod.

  • Payout includes all eligible spend from the first to the last day of the previous month.

  • Refunds and returned purchases do not qualify for cashback.

You can track cashback earned in the card details view.
