Transfer Times

Written by Ari Schlacht

How fast does your money move in Sequence?

It depends on the type of accounts involved in the transfer. Here’s the quick breakdown:

Sequence → Sequence

Transfers between two Sequence accounts—Pods or Income Sources—are instant.

Example: Moving money from your Income Source into your Groceries Pod happens right away.

Sequence → External

Transfers from a Sequence account to an external bank account are sent by same-day ACH.

Example: Sending money from your Taxes Pod to an outside bank account will typically arrive the same day (depending on the receiving bank’s cutoff times).

External → Sequence (or anywhere else)

When Sequence needs to pull funds from an external bank account, it takes 2–3 business days.

This timing applies regardless of where the funds end up - whether they’re landing in a Pod, an Income Source, or being passed through to another destination.

Transfer funds immediately

In a last-minute situation where you need money to move right away, you can create a one-time transfer.

This lets you manually move funds without setting up an automation.

Good to know

  • One-time transfers are non-automated

  • Transfer timing follows the same guidelines outlined above

  • You’ll see the transfer status in your activity log, just like any other move

Key takeaway

  • Inside Sequence → Instant

  • Out of Sequence → Same day

  • Into Sequence from external → 2–3 business days
