Using Filters in the Activity Log

Written by Ari Schlacht

Filters let you zoom in on exactly the activity you care about, no more scrolling through everything to find the one transfer, transaction, or rule run you’re looking for.

Use them to slice your Activity Log down to the most relevant details in seconds.

A Quick Note on Terminology

In Sequence, when we say internal vs. external, here’s what we mean:

  • Internal → Transfers made within Sequence
(Between Pods, Income Sources, and other Sequence accounts)

  • External → Transfers made between Sequence and an outside bank
(Chase, Wells Fargo, Capital One, etc.)

This distinction becomes especially helpful when filtering by activity type or direction.

Filter Options

You can filter your Activity Log by the following:

Date

Choose a specific date range to only show activity from that window.

Account

See the history for one or more Pods, Income Sources, or external accounts.

Beneficiary

Filter activity by the owner — personal, business, or joint beneficiaries.

Activity Type

Narrow the feed to specific types of movement:

  • Cashback

  • Debit Card Activity
Purchases or refunds made using your Sequence debit cards

  • Money In
Funds received into an Income Source or Pod

  • One-Time Transfer
    Manual transfers you initiated yourself

  • Pulled From Sequence
Funds debited directly from a Pod/Income Source (including debit card transactions)

  • Rule-Triggered Transfer
Transfers initiated automatically by your rules

Direction

Incoming → Funds flowing into a Sequence account

Outgoing → Funds flowing out of a Sequence account

Useful for isolating deposits vs. payments.

Status

See only the activity in a particular state:

  • Processing — transfer is actively moving

  • Pending — waiting to clear or for more information

  • Complete

  • Failed

Clicking a transfer will show the full status timeline + ETA.

Hide Internal Transfers

Toggle this to instantly hide all internal movements (within Sequence), and focus only on interactions with the outside world.

This is especially helpful for bookkeeping or tax prep.

Download Your Filtered View

Once you’ve narrowed down your Activity Log, click Download in the top-right corner and choose Current View.

Your exported report will match exactly what’s on your screen making it perfect for reconciliation, sharing with your accountant, or keeping clean business records.

Next up: we’ll walk through the downloadable document types (CSV, PDF, Current View reports) — and when to use each one.
