Shift Types and Sections add context to your recorded shifts. You can create options that fit your workplace, then use them to filter and compare your earnings.
Shift Types describe when or what kind of shift you work, such as Opening, Closing, Double, Lunch or Dinner. You can set typical start and end times. When you select it in Add Shift, those times fill in automatically. Adjust them if your hours differ that day.
Sections describe the area you work, such as Patio or Bar. Recording your Section helps you see how your earnings vary across areas of your workplace.
Add a Shift Type or Section
Open More → Preferences.
Under About your work, select Shift Types or Sections.
Tap Add and enter a name.
For a Shift Type, enter typical start and end times if you want to use them.
Save your changes.
Once you’ve recorded shifts with these details, use the filter icon in the top-right corner of the Calendar or Totals page to view earnings for a particular Shift Type or Section.
Edit a Shift Type or Section
Open Shift Types or Sections under More → Preferences → About your work. Select the entry, update its details and save your changes.
Stop using a Shift Type or Section
Disable an option you no longer use by toggling off Active. It will no longer appear as a choice for new entries, but it will stay connected to past records and remain available in filters and comparisons.
Delete a Shift Type or Section
If it’s connected to existing records, ServerLife will ask what you want to do with them:
Delete the associated records: Permanently remove those records from your account. This cannot be undone.
Keep the records without the Shift Type or Section: Preserves your records and earnings, but removes their connection to that Shift Type or Section. Your earnings still count toward totals and averages.
