Learn how to add and manage jobs, positions and hourly pay rates in ServerLife.

Use Jobs to track different workplaces. If you work at more than one restaurant, for example, add each as a separate Job.

Use Positions for the roles you work, such as Server or Bartender. You can set a different hourly wage for each Position.

When you select a Position with an assigned hourly wage for a shift, ServerLife uses that wage instead of your fixed rate in Preferences.

Add a Job

  1. Open More → Preferences

  2. Under About Your Work, tap Jobs.

  3. Tap Add a Job and enter the Job name.

  4. Set up a Pay Period for this job.

  5. To identify the Job on your Calendar, turn on Show job marker and choose a color.

  6. Tap Save Job.

You can now select the Job when recording a shift. You can use the filter icon to view earnings for a particular Job.

Add a Position

  1. Open More → Preferences.

  2. Under About your work, tap Positions.

  3. Tap Add Position.

  4. Enter the Position Name and, if applicable, an Hourly Wage.

  5. Enable the Position so you can select it when recording a shift.

  6. Tap Save Position.

Select the Position when recording a shift to keep track of the role you worked. If you assigned an hourly wage, ServerLife will use it to calculate your wage earnings.

For more about hourly wage settings, see How hourly wage tracking works.

Edit a Job or Position

Open Jobs or Positions under More → Preferences → About your work. Select the entry you want to edit, update its details and save your changes.

Disable a Job or Position

If you no longer use a Job or Position, you can disable it to keep it out of new entries while preserving your existing records.

  • Job: Open the Job, turn off Active, then tap Save Changes.

  • Position: Open the Position, turn off Enabled, then tap Save Changes.

The Job or Position will no longer appear as a choice for new entries, but it will remain available in filters and comparisons.

Delete a Job or Position

If the Job or Position is connected to existing records, ServerLife will ask you what to do with them:

  • Delete the associated records: Permanently removes the connected records from your account. This cannot be undone.

  • Keep the records without the Job or Position: Preserves your records, but removes their connection to that Job or Position. Your recorded earnings will still appear on your Calendar and count toward your totals and averages.
