You can top up your Sharesies Wallet with Australian dollars (AUD) using:

  • bank transfer

  • debit or credit card

  • linked bank

  • Apple Pay or Google Pay

  • PayID®.

Top up with a bank transfer

To find the details needed to top up by bank transfer, log in to Sharesies and head to Wallet > Top up Wallet > Bank transfer.

You’ll find the details you need to make a bank transfer:

  • your investor reference

  • the payee name

  • the Sharesies account number.

When setting up a one-off bank transfer, or automatic payment, make sure that your investor reference is correct. We use this reference to assign your top-up to your Wallet.

Topping up your Wallet usually takes about as long as a bank transfer between banks, but can take up to one working day when deposited on a weekday.

Top-ups by bank transfer made over a weekend will typically appear in your Wallet on a Tuesday, although these can sometimes land in your Sharesies Wallet faster if your bank supports Osko.

Top up with a debit or credit card

You can top up your Wallet with a debit or credit card. There’s a card processing fee to do this.

To top up using a card in Sharesies:

  1. Log in to Sharesies

  2. Go to Wallet > Top up Wallet

  3. Select Credit or Debit card

  4. Select your Saved card or add a credit or debit card

  5. Enter the amount you'd like to top up

  6. The total top up amount plus fees will be displayed at the bottom. Select Top up with card to proceed with payment

  7. Select Top up Wallet to confirm your card top up.

Topping up with a card can take a few hours to arrive in your Wallet.

Top up by linked bank

Once you’ve linked your bank to Sharesies, you can top up your Wallet using your linked bank. A linked bank transfer fee will apply if you’re not on a monthly plan.

To top up using your linked bank in Sharesies:

  1. Log in to Sharesies

  2. Go to Wallet > Top up Wallet

  3. Select Linked bank

  4. If you haven’t already, link you bank with Sharesies

  5. For a recurring top-up, enter the amount and how frequently you want to top up. Then select a start date. For a one-off top-up, enter the amount you want to top up.

  6. The total top up amount plus fees will be displayed at the bottom. Select Confirm to finalise your payment.

Topping up with your linked bank can take up to four business days to appear in your Wallet.

Top up on the Sharesies mobile app

On the Sharesies mobile app, you can top up your Wallet with a debit or credit card, or by using Apple Pay or Google Pay—a top up can take up to a few hours to process. A card processing fee will apply.

To top up with Apple Pay or Google Pay on the Sharesies mobile app:

  1. Log in to Sharesies

  2. Select Wallet > Top up Wallet

  3. Select Apple Pay/Google Pay, Credit or Debit card

  4. Select Apple Pay/Google Pay as your payment method

  5. Enter the amount you'd like to top up

  6. The total top up amount plus fees will be displayed at the bottom. Select Top up with Apple Pay/Google Pay to proceed with payment

  7. Select Top up Wallet to confirm your card top up.

Top up using PayID®

You can top up your Wallet instantly by using PayID® through your online banking. A PayID® transfer fee applies.

To top up using PayID®:

  1. Log in to Sharesies

  2. Select Wallet > Top up Wallet

  3. Select PayID®

  4. Copy your unique Sharesies PayID®

  5. Open your banking app and make a payment using your copied PayID® email address

  6. Wait a few seconds for the money to arrive in your Wallet.

The first time you set up a payment to your Sharesies PayID®, your bank might not recognise your unique identifier instantly.

If this happens, wait a few minutes and try again. The longest it should take for your bank to recognise the ID is 10 minutes.

The fees can be found in our Supplementary IDPS Guide and FSG available on our website.
