How do I add my Tax details for a dividend distribution in Sharesies Private?

If a company you’ve invested in is preparing to pay a dividend, they may ask you to provide some additional information. This helps ensure your dividend is paid correctly and taxed at the right rate.

If these details aren’t completed, your dividend payment may be delayed or taxed at a higher default rate.

What details do I need to provide?

Depending on your situation, you may be asked for:

  • Your tax identification number (IRD, TFN, or other TIN)

  • Your country of tax residence

  • Whether you’re a tax resident or non-resident

  • Your withholding tax rate (if applicable)

  • Whether you are RWT exempt (New Zealand only)

  • Your bank account details (to receive payments)

    • Please see this help centre article for more information

  1. Select the company requesting your details

  2. In the left-hand menu, click Custom fields

  3. Open the Dividend fields tab

  4. Enter your details
