We love to keep you in the loop with what’s happening at Sharesies, but we get that you might only want to hear from us when it’s about your account.
We’re not fans of spam, and do our bit by following the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007 (NZ) and Spam Act 2003 (Australia). That means our marketing emails will be clearly labelled as being from Sharesies Limited, give you an email address to contact us on, and give you the option to unsubscribe.
You can control what kind of emails you receive from us by logging in to Sharesies and going to Settings > Notifications. You can unsubscribe from (or resubscribe to) our marketing and investing activity emails at any time.
Currently, you can’t unsubscribe from account update emails.
Marketing
Our marketing emails tell you about things like:
Sharesies promotions
news about Sharesies
features of Sharesies and our app
access to investment opportunities (e.g. initial public offerings and share placements)
educational content, and
surveys and opportunities for you to share your thoughts.
By unsubscribing, you’ll no longer be told about opportunities to access investments or other promotions. If you’d like to be kept in the loop about these opportunities, keep an eye on our website and social media channels. We’re working on giving you even more control over the messages you’d like us to send you.
Investing activity
Investing activity emails give you updates about the investments you’ve bought and sold recently, and when money has arrived in your Sharesies Wallet.
Account updates
Account update emails give you important information about your account or your investments. They include things like:
tax information
corporate actions that apply to your investments (for example, shareholder votes or rights issues)
dividend payments
letting you know if you’ve won a prize or other promotion reward
when someone gives you a Sharesies Gift
instructions on how to redeem a prize, reward, or Sharesies Gift
contacting you about your account (for example, updating your bank account details or identity information)
if we detect any fraudulent or suspicious activity relating to your account
changes to our terms and conditions, and
other emails that we’re required to send by law.
You can’t unsubscribe from account emails.
