How to create an Exit Coupon Nudge

Learn how to enable and configure the exit coupon nudge in Shopflo's checkout — the popup widget that surfaces your exit coupon offer to customers who are about to leave.

Written by Swapnil Sangal

The exit coupon nudge is the popup widget that appears in your checkout when a customer is about to leave. It surfaces the exit coupon offer you've already created — so before setting this up, make sure you have an active exit coupon ready. If you haven't created one yet, follow the steps in the How to Create an Exit Coupon article first.

When to Use the Exit Coupon Nudge

Use the exit coupon nudge when you want to visually surface your exit offer to customers the moment they show intent to leave checkout. The nudge is the display layer — it needs an exit coupon attached to it to work. You can also customise how the nudge looks to match your brand.

How to Set Up the Exit Coupon Nudge

Step 1: Go to Flo Checkout in your Shopflo dashboard and click on Core Setup.

Step 2: Scroll down to the Exit Nudge section, below the order summary. Turn the toggle on to enable it.

Step 3: Select the Exit Coupon Nudge option. Click Show Preview to see how the nudge will appear to customers before going live.

Step 4: Use the dropdown to attach an exit coupon to the nudge. You'll need to have created an exit coupon first — if you haven't, you can also create one directly from this screen using the option in the dropdown. To learn how to create an exit coupon go through this article.

Step 5: Once the exit coupon is attached, customisation options will become available. Adjust the nudge appearance to match your brand.

Step 6: Once everything looks good, click Save. The exit coupon nudge is now live and will appear to customers when they attempt to leave checkout.
