Some of your COD customers aren't actually COD-preferring customers — they just haven't been given a reason to switch. This segment helps you identify them: shoppers who regularly pay prepaid on other brands across Shopflo's network of 1500+ brands, but consistently choose COD on your store. Once you know who they are, you can nudge them toward prepaid with a high chance of conversion.
Understanding the Segment Logic
This segment combines two conditions to pinpoint exactly the right customers:
Network Prepaid Affinity ≥ 70 — Shopflo's network spans 1500+ brands, and the Network Prepaid Affinity score reflects how likely a customer is to pay prepaid based on their behaviour across this network. A score of 70 means that 7 out of 10 times, this customer chooses prepaid on other brands — so prepaid is clearly not a barrier for them.
At least 3 completed COD orders on your store — This confirms that despite their prepaid behaviour elsewhere, they've actively chosen COD with you multiple times. Three completed orders is a meaningful threshold — enough to confirm a genuine pattern, not just a one-off.
How to Create This Segment
Step 1: Go to the Segments page in your Shopflo dashboard and click New Segment in the top right.
Step 2: A modal will appear with segment type options. Select Dynamic List — this means the segment updates automatically as customers meet or stop meeting the conditions.
Step 3: Enter a clear name for the segment, such as Prefer Prepaid but Pay COD.
Step 4: Click Add Condition, go to the Network Attributes tab, and select Network Prepaid Affinity.
Step 5: Set the operator to greater than or equals and the value to 70. This filters for customers who choose prepaid at least 70% of the time across Shopflo's brand network.
Step 6: Click Add Condition again. This time go to the Others tab and select Order Type. This condition checks their payment behaviour specifically on your store.
Step 7: Set the operator to At least from the dropdown.
Step 8: Enter 3 as the minimum order count. This ensures only customers with a confirmed pattern of COD usage are included — not one-off cases.
Step 9: Click on Select Value, and set Order Type to COD from the dropdown.
Step 10: Click Add Properties and select Status from the dropdown. This adds a filter so only orders that actually went through are counted.
Step 11: Set Status to COMPLETED. This ensures only genuine delivered COD orders count toward the threshold — not cancelled orders or failed payments.
Step 12: Click Save Segment. Shopflo will now continuously evaluate customers against these conditions and keep the segment updated automatically.
What to Do With This Segment
Once the segment is populated, use it to run targeted prepaid nudges — for example, a prepaid-only discount or a small COD fee applied specifically to this group. Since their network behaviour already shows they're comfortable paying prepaid, the conversion rate on these nudges tends to be significantly higher than for the average COD customer. You can also use this segment in automations to trigger a prepaid incentive at the right moment in checkout.
