The Top Banner sits at the very top of the Flo Cart and is one of the first things a shopper sees when they open it. You can use it to highlight active offers, surface a discount code, show a free shipping threshold, or add a trust signal — all before a shopper even looks at their items.
With the Multiple banner type, your messages rotate automatically so you can run several nudges at once. Brands using dynamic banners see 8–12% lower cart abandonment — shoppers who see an offer immediately don't leave to search for codes, and trust signals in the banner reduce hesitation right before the final tap.
How to Add Dynamic Banners
Step 1: Go to Flo Cart → Core Setup in your Shopflo dashboard.
Step 2: In the right panel, click on Top Banner under Elements to expand the settings.
Step 3: Under Banner Type, select Multiple. This lets you add up to 5 rotating banner messages. (Use Single if you only need one static message.)
Step 4: Click + Add Banner to add your first message. Type your banner text in the field (up to 60 characters). You can bold, underline, or italicise text using the formatting options below the input.
Repeat this step for each additional banner message you want to rotate. You can add up to 5 banners.
Step 5: Use the Background and Text colour pickers to match the banner to your brand.
Step 6: Choose an Animation Style for how banners rotate:
— Horizontal Marquee — text scrolls continuously from right to left. Works well for longer messages and creates a sense of motion.
— Vertical Ticker — banners flip up one at a time, like a countdown display.
Step 7: Set the Animation Delay — the number of seconds each banner is visible before the next one appears. 2–3 seconds is a good default.
Step 8: Click Save. Your banner will go live on the cart immediately.
What to Put in Your Banners — and What Actually Converts
The top banner is premium real estate. Here's how to make it count:
Lead with your strongest offer. The first banner a shopper sees should be your most compelling message — usually a free shipping threshold, an active discount code, or a BXGY offer. Don't bury it at position 4.
Keep messages specific and action-oriented. "Free shipping on orders above ₹999" outperforms "Enjoy free shipping today" because it tells the shopper exactly what they need to do. Specificity converts.
Mix offer types across your banners. A high-converting banner stack typically combines one offer (free shipping or discount), one urgency signal (limited time, code expires tonight), and one trust signal (100% secure payments, easy returns). Mixing these keeps each rotation useful.
Use emojis for visual pop. An emoji at the start of each banner (🚚 for shipping, 🔥 for urgency, ✅ for trust) makes messages scannable and adds personality — especially on mobile where cart space is tight.
Don't max out at 5 banners if you don't have 5 strong messages. 3 focused banners beat 5 diluted ones. If shoppers see a banner that doesn't apply to them, the whole strip loses credibility.
