Discounts are one of the most powerful levers for driving conversions in your store. Whether you're running a flash sale, rewarding first-time shoppers, or nudging customers to complete their purchase, Shopflo gives you full control to create, customize, and manage discounts with ease.
This guide walks you through creating your first discount in Shopflo — step by step — and covers the key settings you need to know to get it right.
Getting Started: Navigate to Discounts
Step 1: Go to the Discounts page from your Shopflo dashboard.
Step 2: Review the analytics of your existing discounts. This section shows how your previous discounts have performed — useful for benchmarking before you create a new one.
Step 3: Click the green Create Discount button to start building a new offer.
Choosing a Discount Template
Step 4: A modal will appear with pre-built discount templates. Browse the options and select the one that best fits your campaign goal. For this guide, select Discount on Cart Value.
Configuring Your Discount
Step 5: Choose the discount trigger — for example, offer a 10% discount when the cart value reaches ₹799.
Step 6: Give your discount a clear, recognisable name at the top of the form.
Step 7: Choose how the discount is applied — Use as Code or Automatic Discount:
Use as Code: Customers manually enter a promo code (e.g. "WELCOME10") at checkout.
Automatic Discount: The discount applies automatically once the conditions are met — no code copying needed. Commonly used for discounts like shipping discounts, buy x get y etc.
Step 8: Set the discount type to Percentage and enter 10 for a 10% discount.
Step 9: Define the purchase condition. Select Cart Amount and enter 799 as the minimum cart value required to trigger the discount.
Setting Eligibility & Usage Limits
Step 10: Specify how many times a customer can use this discount per cart session — typically set to once to prevent stacking abuse.
Step 11: In the eligibility condition block, define who can use this discount. For example, select First Time Customers to restrict the offer to new shoppers only.
Step 12: Decide whether the discount can be combined with other active offers, or set it as non-combinable to keep it exclusive.
Step 13: Set overall usage limits to protect your margins:
Total Uses: Leave unlimited if you want it available to all eligible first-time customers.
Per Customer: Cap how many times a single customer can redeem it (e.g. 2 times per person).
Channels, Visibility & Schedule
Step 14: Select the channels where this discount should appear — Web, Mobile etc. You can also control whether it's visible to all shoppers or only to eligible customers.
Step 15: Set the active date range for the discount. Choose specific start and end dates for a time-limited campaign, or leave it open-ended to run indefinitely.
Review, Save & Go Live
Step 16: Review all your settings on the summary screen before saving. Double-check the discount value, eligibility rules, and date range.
Step 17: Click Save to activate your discount.
Step 18: Preview how the discount will appear to customers at checkout. You can customize the color or style to match your brand.
Step 19: Once saved, your new discount will appear in the Discounts dashboard. You can edit, pause, or delete it at any time from here.
