Before GE Appliances can deliver and install new appliances, the job site must meet specific readiness and safety requirements. These conditions help ensure installations are completed safely, efficiently, and without added costs or damage.

Key requirements

  • Kitchen area complete: Flooring, cabinets, countertops, and trim must be installed and clean.

  • Driveways and access: Clear driveways, sidewalks, and entryways free of debris and scaffolding.

  • Access for large appliances: Adequate stair or elevator access to upper floors as needed.

  • Utilities ready: Electrical, water, and venting connections installed, turned on, and tested.

  • Laundry and kitchen hookups: Drains open, shutoff valves installed, and lines flushed of debris.

Installation notes

  • The site must allow for proper testing of appliances.

  • If the location is not ready or safe, additional trip charges may apply.

  • If appliances are moved and re-installed by others, contractors are responsible for any floor damage caused by moving or reinstalling appliances.

  • GE Appliances is not responsible for property damage if operational tests cannot be performed due to unavailable utilities.
