When you make a deposit using the “Add Cash” feature in the app, it will often land instantly — but occasionally, your payment may show as “pending” in your wallet.
Here are the most common reasons for this:
🔄 Routine security checks
We run real-time checks on all incoming deposits to keep your account secure. In some cases, especially for larger transfers or new users, we may need to perform extra reviews before releasing the funds.
This is usually automatic and completes within a couple of hours, but it can take longer if manual checks are needed.
🌙 Evening, weekend or bank holiday delays
If you sent money outside of standard banking hours, we may not complete all checks until the next working day.
Our team will either confirm that your funds have cleared, or request any additional details we need to release them.
🛑 Third-party compliance holds (Currencycloud)
Sidekick uses regulated payment providers to process your deposits. Sometimes, our provider Currencycloud may pause a payment for routine compliance checks.
These checks are outside of our control, and while rare, they can delay a transfer by up to one or two working days.

If your deposit has been stuck in “pending” for more than a full working day, please contact us in the app and share:
The amount sent
Date and time of transfer
Your sending bank
Any reference or confirmation number
