What is Signhost QES?
Signhost QES allows you to apply a Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) without downloading an app. It’s perfect for situations where you only need to sign a document at the highest security level once or occasionally.
Unlike other providers that require installing an app and creating a long-term certificate, Signhost QES creates a temporary certificate valid for 1 hour. This makes it fast and convenient for one-time signers.
Why do I need a Qualified Electronic Signature?
A QES is the highest level of electronic signature under EU eIDAS regulations. It ensures:
Legal equivalence to a handwritten signature
Strong identity verification
Maximum security for sensitive documents
Your sender may require QES for compliance or security reasons.
Do I need to install an app?
No. With Signhost QES, everything happens in your browser and on your phone's browser. No app download is required.
How long is my certificate valid?
Your certificate is valid for 1 hour. If you sign again within this period, you will only need to confirm your identity with the ID checks before signing. If you sign after that period, you would need to repeat the full process.
Your signature on the signed document will be valid even after the validity of your certificate. You don't have to worry about your signed document becoming invalid, because we use Long-Term Validation (LTV) while placing your signature. Read more about LTV by following this link.
What do I need before starting?
A smartphone with a camera
