I have received a document to sign, but I would like to print out and read a hard copy. Can I do that?
At Signhost we have made the deliberate choice not to develop this functionality, for several reasons.
Most important, for organisations that use Signhost, it is counterproductive to receive documents by post that were sent via our webportal, as it undermines both the process and their legal validity.
Second, we have created an efficient solution to the old print-scan-post problem, the crux of which is to avoid the physical aspects of the process.
One added bonus is that far less printing and delivery is required, which saves the environment as well as expenses for all parties involved.
Final notes
Once a transaction has been successfully signed by all signers, the end product is of course an officially signed document. It is sent as a PDF, which should be carefully stored in the organisation's own digital system. At this point printing is an option of course, however since the digital seals are lost during printing, the document will lose its legal validity.
Advice is therefore to store the document digitally.
