Multiple signatories with a single e-mail address

Updated over a week ago

When creating a transaction, you can add multiple signers. All signers you include will sign every document uploaded to the transaction. Please note that signer settings cannot be customized per document within a single transaction.

It is possible to add multiple signers who share the same email address. If you do this, we strongly recommend adding an extra verification method to confirm each signer’s identity.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Add the signer’s email address

Enter the email address of the signer.

Step 2: Enable identification and choose a verification method

  • Turn on the Identification required toggle.

  • Select an additional verification method.
Tip: With the Scribble option, you can prefill a name to make it clear who needs to sign.

  • You can select multiple verification methods if needed.

Step 3: Add additional signers

Click Add signer to include more signers.

Step 4: Send invitations in order

When using the same email address for multiple signers, we recommend sending invitations in order:

  • The first signer receives an email and signs the document.

  • After signing, the next signer receives their email, and so forth.

Step 5: Position the signature field

After adding the document(s), use drag & drop to place signature fields. The top signer will be Signer 1, followed by Signer 2, and so on.

Step 6: Add a message for signers (optional)

If you have enabled Send in order, you can include a message specifying who should sign first. This helps avoid confusion and ensures a clear signing sequence.

Step 7: Send the transaction

Click Send to finalize and send the transaction.
