Export As

The 'Export As' button in the Document Manager Editor allows you to download a document that you have created.

When you click on this button, you will see you can download a document in 3 formats - PDF, Word, or TX:

Exporting a Document TX

TX is the native format of the Document Manager editor.

Exporting in TX can be a very handy way of 'saving' your documents created in Document Manager to then 'Import' again in another channel, or to create a new document using that design.

When you Export a document in TX, it will create a .tx file in your downloads. This can then be renamed, and saved, and used to upload into the engine to re-use that design:

The .tx file will retain everything in the document design, including your data mapping and any logic you have set on the data in the document.

Load from File: Importing a .tx file to create a document

Where you have a .tx file you want to use as the basis of a new document, after you have setup the new document, you will have a 'blank' document to start working on:

When you have gone into EDIT mode, you will have 'Loan from File' as an option:

When you click this, you will be able to select your saved .tx file from your Files, and when uploaded, the same document design/mapping etc will be instantly created:

Importing an existing PDF or Word file to create a document

You can also import an existing PDF or Word file to create a document. eg here I have uploaded a word version of a Conditional Approval letter:

This can be useful to get design/static content but note that mapping of data then needs to be done 'around' the static content. Sometimes it can be easier to start from scratch.
