When the 'native' format of data coming from the LADM data model is not great when populated onto a Document, you can use Field Properties to re-set the format to make it more suitable when inserting onto a Document
To change the format of a field, you will need to make sure you have versioned your Document and are in 'draft'; and then in Edit mode:
When in Edit mode, you will be able to use the Reporting functionality. To change the format properties of a field, you need to find the relevant field on the Document, and select it by ensuring that your cursor is on the field.
You can find the field either by scrolling through the Document; or using the Field Navigation functionality to 'select' your field.
Its only when you have clicked on a mapped field that the Field Properties function will be enabled:
When you click on Field Properties, you get a popup that allows you to edit the format of the data that will be populated onto the Document.
Name and Text will be auto-populated and should not be edited.
Format
Format allows you to set how the data will be treated in terms of Font Case:
Text to be inserted before
Text to be inserted before allows you to add details that will always be inserted onto the Document when your data is mapped. A good example is a $ on a field that represents a dollar value.
Text to be inserted after
Text to be inserted after allows you to add details that will always be inserted onto the Document when your data is mapped. A good example is a % on a field that represents an interest rate.
Date/Time Format
Date/Time Format can be set to make Date/Time data more readily human-readable (as compared to full date/time element in the LADM data.
Note that the most useful format for getting dates right is dd/MM/yyyy.
Note that some data elements are already re-formatted and made available in the LADM data model as a 'cover' version of the data element. This 'cover' version is often used to make date formats more suitable. Where you see a 'cover' version and use it, you will not need to change the properties of the field.
Numeric Format
Numeric Format can be set to make Numeric data more readily human-readable (as compared to what is the native format in the LADM data.
This is useful for managing how decimals are presented; and also making sure that you have relevant , separators in your number.
The most useful Numeric Format to use is #,###,##0 or #,###,##0.00 if you want to format with decimals.
Preserve formatting during updates
It is good to tick this setting so that your format is not lost when you edit/version your Document.
Note that once you have set the format via Field Properties, you can re-open and edit Properties by finding your field again, clicking on it, and opening the Field Properties popup to make your changes and re-save.
