What is the Files Tab?
The Files Tab brings your files and the visualizations themselves together in one seamless interface, making it easier to access, manage, and share.
What Can You Do with the Files Tab?
Access and download project files: No more switching between the project page and the Explore page. Everything is in one place.
View all annotation attachments: See files attached to annotations in one view.
See files used in layers: Quickly locate the files used to create specific layers.
Share files with stakeholders: Enable the Files Tab in a share link, giving stakeholders access to download relevant files.
Folders and File Types in the Files Tab
The Files Tab organizes files into different folders based on their purpose and source:
System Managed Folders: Root folders that you cannot edit or delete.
User files: Files uploaded to the project or linked from Data Management.
Layers: Files used to create layers.
Annotations: Attachments uploaded to annotations.
System Created Folders: Automatically generated when you create a layer or annotation. In an upcoming update, you’ll be able to delete files here, and the system will remove the associated layer or annotation after confirmation.
Linked Folders or Files – Files linked from Data Management.
Default Folders or Files – Files uploaded directly to the project.
How Can I Enable or Disable the Files Tab in a Share Link?
You can easily toggle the Files Tab on or off in share links, giving you control over whether viewers can access and download files within the Files Tab.
Note: Currently, you can only enable or disable the Files Tab. Folder-specific access control within the Files Tab is not yet available.
What’s Coming Next?
This is just the first stage of the Files Tab, and we have more exciting updates on the way:
Upload files directly within the Files Tab (no need to switch to the project page).
Create layers directly from the Files Tab.
Delete files used in layers or annotations, with automatic cleanup of associated elements after confirmation.
