SKAND now provides full support for OmniSLAM data, allowing users to efficiently upload and visualize outputs that include both point clouds and panoramas.
Users can now:
Import OmniSLAM-generated point clouds directly into SKAND.
Upload panorama images captured and processed via OmniSLAM.
View, organize, and manage both datasets within the familiar SKAND interface.
Integrate OmniSLAM outputs into your existing SKAND workflows for mapping, modeling, and documentation.
Supported OmniSLAM Outputs
SKAND supports the following OmniSLAM data formats:
Point Clouds –
.lasand.lazor other supported SKAND formats depending on your export configurationPanoramas – Standard image formats such as
.jpg,.jpeg, or.png
Note: Please ensure that the panorama file names remain unchanged to allow them to be published correctly.
Create a Point Cloud Layer
Ensure that all necessary files are uploaded to the project, including the panorama folder (camera), metadata CSV, and point clouds, before creating a layer.
Going back to the Layers tab, click the New Layer button to initiate layer creation.
Input a layer name.
Select Point Cloud layer type.
Click Next.
Specify the EPSG code for your point cloud. Otherwise, select My data is not Geo-referenced option above.
Click Next.
Click the plus (+) icon to select the point clouds.
Tick the boxes for your point clouds.
Click Select to confirm your selection.
Review all the files you selected. Once confirmed, click Done to proceed with layer creation.
SKAND will process your point clouds. Once complete, the status will change to Published, and you’ll be able to visualize the point cloud in the platform.
Create a Panorama Group Layer
Click the New Layer button to initial layer creation process.
Enter a layer name for your panorama group.
Select Panorama Group on the layer type.
Click Next.
Select OmniSLAM as Data Format.
Specify the EPSG code, ensuring it matches the one applied to your point clouds.
Click Next.
Click the plus (+) icon to select your panoramas and metadata file.
Select the panorama folder and the metadata CSV file.
Click Select.
Review the selected files and click Done to proceed with layer creation.
SKAND will process your panoramas and publish them shortly.
The panorama group layer is now published.
Visualize it by clicking the View on Explore button.
