Users can set the Panorama Workspace mode a project opens in, so the team lands in the right workspace every time instead of switching manually.
The default is saved to the project and applies to everyone who opens it. Any user with edit access can change it.
Available Workspace Modes
One of the three modes can be set as the project default. For a full breakdown of what each mode includes, see Improved Panorama UI and Linear Asset Navigation.
Default view – The standard workspace with the full 3D Scene and main sidebar controls available.
Simple view – A reduced interface that gives more space to the panorama, with measurement, Views, and 3D or Panorama switching still available.
Linear asset – A split workspace showing the scene on the left and an enlarged location map on the right. Suited to roads, bridges, tunnels, and other corridor assets.
Setting the Default
Open the project and click the Project settings icon in the left sidebar.
Select the Workspace tab.
Under Default workspace, choose Default view, Simple view, or Linear asset.
Click Save.
Close and reopen the project to apply the change.
Note: Because the default applies to everyone opening the project, changing it affects how the project launches for all users with access. Let the team know before changing the default on an active project.
Applying the New Default
Saving the default workspace does not change the session that is already open. The scene stays in whatever mode was active before the change.
To apply the new default, users need to close and reopen the project.
Note: If the workspace does not appear to change after saving, the most likely reason is that the project has not been closed and reopened yet. The same applies to other users who already had the project open when the default was changed.
Important: Switching modes from the icons next to the Coordinates bar is temporary. It does not update the project default, and the project reverts to the saved default the next time it is opened.
Note: Newly created projects are set to Simple view by default. Existing projects created before this update keep Default view as their default workspace. Either can be changed at any time using the steps above.
Tips
Match the default to the asset type. Set Linear asset for corridor projects such as roads, bridges, and tunnels so reviewers land in the split map workspace without extra clicks. Set Simple view for buildings and vertical assets where panorama space matters more than sidebar controls.
Pair the default with Views. Creating Views named after chainages or floor levels makes navigation faster once the project opens in the right workspace.
Share Links are configured separately. Setting a project default does not change what external viewers see. Workspace mode for shared viewing is set on the Share Link itself. See this document for instructions on how to apply Workspace Modes to a Share Link.
