Create Annotations on Images

Updated over 10 months ago

Why Annotate on Images?

We know that while 3D models provide spatial context, some details may be missing. That’s why we’ve added the Image Viewer so you can view high-resolution images alongside your models and create annotations directly on them.

How to Create Annotations on Images

1. Open the Image Viewer and Select the photo that best covers the area you want to inspect or annotate.

2. In the 2D viewer, turn on the Draw Tool to begin annotating.

3. Zoom in to closely examine the image and pinpoint the area you wish to annotate, just like in the 3D scene.

4. (Optional) Click the Deproject button to create 3D annotations from your 2D drawings. The system uses the camera position to deproject your annotations onto the 3D scene.

Note: Make sure the relevant model is turned on so annotations can deproject correctly.

5. Once you're done, save your annotations as usual. Your annotation will be saved with the original image, making it easy to link back to the exact image where you created the annotation.
