What are Color-Coded Appointment Slots?

Color-Coded Appointment Slots use green, yellow, and red to show patients how busy each available time slot is. This helps patients choose appointment times based on how busy or quiet the office will be — useful for patients who prefer less busy times, need more flexibility, or need a quieter environment.

Turning on Color-Coded Appointment Slots

Go to Settings > Mobile App Settings, scroll toward the bottom, and enable Show Color-Coded Appointment Slots.

Note that when Cluster Booking is enabled, this setting is automatically disabled because the two features conflict. The office can turn it back on here at any time, but doing so may lead patients to choose less busy times rather than the grouped times Cluster Booking is designed to encourage.

Enabling Color-Coded Appointment Slots for one patient

If the office wants to keep Cluster Booking on globally but help a specific patient book during quieter times, they can enable this preference per patient instead. This is helpful for patients with mobility needs, transportation limitations, or who need a less busy appointment time for any reason.

To update this, go to Clients and open the patient's client page. Click the settings gear in the App Registration section, then under Scheduling Preferences, check Help this patient book when the office is less busy.

When enabled, that patient sees color-coded time slots in the SKED app and Cluster Booking is turned off for them individually.
