Appointment Types

Learn how to manage, customize, and control appointment type settings for each provider in SKED — including scheduling limits, visibility, and care plan options.

📝 Overview

The Appointment Types tab is where you'll manage the codes for each provider in your office.

👩‍⚕️ Managing Provider Codes

To view and manage each provider's codes, click the Professional dropdown to choose from the available options.

To edit a provider's information, click the pencil icon next to their name.

To add additional codes or providers, click the Actions dropdown.

🔢 Appointment Type Details

The internal name of an appointment type is for your office use, and the display name is what your patients will see in their SKED app if they are scheduled with that appointment type.

To make changes to an appointment code, simply click on it.

The duration that you set here will not be displayed in the app for patients to see.

🕒 Scheduling Limit Settings

Enabling a closing limit allows you to prevent appointments from being scheduled right at closing.

This gives you a small cushion so practice members cannot book a longer appointment at the end of your shift.

If you'd like to prevent practice members from cancelling or rescheduling adjustments in the SKED app, uncheck the corresponding options.

👀 Visibility and Care Plan Options

The Can See option allows patients to view when they have this upcoming appointment type scheduled in the app.

If the Can See option is disabled, patients will not be able to view their upcoming adjustments in the SKED app.

This feature is useful if your office schedules patients with internal codes that you do not want displayed in their app.

If your office follows care plans, you can check the Allow on Care Plan option to count adjustment appointments toward a patient’s care plan frequency.

⏳ Reschedule and Cancel Cutoff

The Reschedule and Cancel Cutoff features allow you to set a time limit on how close to the appointment a patient can make changes.

For example, patients will not be able to reschedule or cancel an adjustment appointment within 24 hours of the appointment time.

🎨 Calendar Customization

If you'd like to customize the appointment colors shown on the SKED calendar, choose the Color option.

Once you’ve finished making changes, click Save.
