What is the Do Not Contact list?

The Do Not Contact (DNC) list in Skyp is a safety net.

It tells Skyp:

“No matter what campaign or list gets uploaded, never email these people or these domains.

This helps you:

  • Avoid emailing existing customers you don’t want in outbound

  • Respect opt-outs or sensitive accounts

  • Avoid emailing competitors, regulators or others by accident

  • Prevent mistakes when importing large lists from tools like Apollo or other prospecting sources

DNC is especially important if you are sending emails automatically without reviewing contacts, such as in an integration with Syft Data or other data provider.

Where to find the Do Not Contact list

  1. Log into Skyp.

  2. Go to the section labeled Do Not Contact (or the equivalent tab in your account).

You’ll see:

  • A list of existing entries (if any)

  • Options to add new entries

Adding entries to your Do Not Contact list

Click Add Do Not Contact (or similar button) to create a new entry.

You can add:

1. Individual email addresses

Example:

  • alex@skyp.ai

Use this when:

  • A specific person has opted out

  • You never want Skyp to email that particular contact again

  • You maintain a VIP or sensitive list of individuals who should not be contacted via outbound

2. Entire domains

Example:

  • skyp.ai

Use this when:

  • You want to block all emails to a specific company or organization

  • Certain customers or partners should never receive outbound emails from Skyp

  • Your legal or compliance team has flagged entire domains as off-limits

Any email that matches the domain (e.g. team@skyp.ai, sales@skyp.ai, alex@skyp.ai) will automatically be protected.

How do I bulk add to the DNC?

You can upload a TXT, CSV or XLSX (excel) file of domains, email addresses, or both. Put each in a separate column, labeled appropriately ("Domains" or "Emails"). The exact column name does not matter as long as it is synonymous with those words. Using a combined column (e.g., "Domains/Emails" will not work. They must be in separate columns or separate files.

Steps:

  1. Download the appropriate list from your CRM, e.g., a list of contacts associated with customer accounts and open opportunities, or contacts already owned by an AE.

  2. Check the column titles in Excel, sheets, or a tool of your choice.

  3. Upload them to the Skyp DNC section.

Why we recommend putting customers on Do Not Contact

If your team is:

  • Uploading large prospect lists from tools like Apollo, Clay, or other sources

  • Working across multiple markets and segments

  • Sharing lists across team members

…it’s easy for existing customers or sensitive accounts to slip into a prospect list by accident.

By adding:

  • Customer emails, or

  • Entire customer domains

…to the Do Not Contact list, Skyp ensures:

  • Those contacts are never emailed, even if they appear in an uploaded CSV

  • You avoid awkward “cold outbound” to current customers or strategic partners

  • Your outbound remains cleaner and more respectful

How Skyp uses the Do Not Contact list

Once configured, the DNC list is automatically enforced:

  • When someone uploads a list that includes a DNC email or domain, Skyp will not send to those contacts.

  • This applies across all campaigns in the account.

You don’t need to remember to filter them out each time—the list acts as a global protection layer.
