The invoice per billing method structure generates one monthly invoice per billing method, each addressed to its own billing contact. This is the right choice for organizations with multiple legal entities, regional subsidiaries, or separate cost centers that each need their own invoice.
This structure requires at least two billing methods in HUB. If your organization doesn't have them yet, you can request new billing methods directly in HUB before proceeding with the steps below.
Note: It is recommended to review the Flexible Invoice Management article before proceeding to ensure this is the correct invoicing structure for the organization.
Steps
Phase 1 — Request billing methods (if needed)
Note: Skip this phase if your billing methods are already set up in HUB.
Go to “Organization” in the top navigation, then select the “Billing” tab.
Click “Billing Method Updates” in the top right, then select New Request.
Complete the request form:
Billing Method— select an existing method to update, or leave blank for a new one
Billing Type— specify arrears* or prepay*
New Billing Method Name— the name that will appear in HUB
Additional Details— any other context for SkyWatch
Click “Submit Request”. You will receive an email confirmation and can track the request status in HUB under “Billing Method Updates”. SkyWatch will notify you by email when the billing method is ready.
Phase 2 — Set invoicing level and assign billing contacts
Go to “Organization” in the top navigation, then select the “Billing” tab.
Under “Invoice Mode”, select “Multiple Invoices”.
On each billing method card, find the “Invoicing Level" toggle and select” Billing Method”.
Click “Change” next to the “Billing Contact” field on each billing method card and assign a billing contact. If the billing contact doesn't exist yet, go to the” Billing Contacts” tab to create one first.
After this point, your Super Admin manages everything independently. To update a billing contact — email address, billing address, invoice wording — go to the Billing Contacts tab and edit the record directly. Changes take effect on the next invoice cycle.
Things to know
Projects follow their billing method: All projects associated with a billing method will appear on that billing method's invoice. If you need a project invoiced separately, consider the invoice per project structure instead.
One billing contact per billing method: Each billing method must have a billing contact assigned. A single billing contact record can be reused across multiple billing methods if needed — for example, if two entities share the same accounts payable contact and address.
Adding a new billing method later: Submit a new request via “Billing Method Updates” in HUB at any time. Once SkyWatch creates the billing method, your Super Admin can assign a billing contact to it without further SkyWatch involvement.
