Medicaid Data Report

Updated this week

Taking data digitally in SLP Toolkit makes billing for Medicaid slightly less painful, as you can easily extract all of the information taken in a session with the click of a button! Meet the Medicaid Data Report!

Here's a tooltip to show you how it works:

To access this report, click on the Reports tab and head to the bottom of the list:

After you click on the Medicaid Data report, select your students and a date range at the top. You will then see all of the documentation that 'most' Medicaid billing software requires.

You can easily edit the Service Type, Provider Name, Place of Service, and Observation fields for individual students, or for your entire caseload by clicking Actions > Select All. Make sure to check the box beside each field you want to edit:

You'll notice a Timestamp column, indicating the date and time that the student's session event was last edited (i.e. when data or notes were added).

If your team needs to track non-billable services in SLP Toolkit, you can do so by tagging sessions as Non-Billable using the Medicaid Data report. You can mass-tag sessions by following these steps:

  1. Go to the Reports tab.

  2. Select Medicaid Data on the left.

  3. Choose the student(s) and date range.

  4. Check all sessions you want to tag.

  5. Click Actions, then Edit Data.

  6. Select Service Type and choose Non-billable from the dropdown.

  7. Click Update.

This will update the selected sessions with a “Non-billable” service type for easy filtering and reporting.

💡 Tip: If additional context is needed, you can also add a brief note in the student notes section of the session to explain why the service was non-billable. This helps preserve important details for future reference.

To download the report, click the printer icon. All of this information will be exported into a .csv file spreadsheet!

Fingers crossed your district uses Medicaid billing software that allows for the import of a .csv file! Not sure? Ask your billing specialist in the district. Because what's better than a magical billing button that uploads all of that data from one file!

We would love to hear from you! Send us an email to hello@slptoolkit.com.
