Overview
To preserve exam integrity, all exams taken through our remote proctoring modalities require a password. You are not expected to know the password; instead, SmarterProctoring uses two methods to enter it on your behalf.
In this article, you will learn:
Automatic password injection
Manual password injection
Troubleshooting
Automatic Password Injection
After you complete onboarding and are directed to the exam URL, SmarterProctoring will automatically try to inject the password into the appropriate field. Once injected, click Submit.
Manual Password Injection
If the automatic password injection fails, you must manually trigger password injection by following these steps:
Click into the password field to place the cursor inside it.
Click the Inject Password icon in the SmarterProctoring Toolbar.
Click the submit button once the password appears in the password field.
Troubleshooting
The exam platform login page appears after onboarding completion
Some Learning Management Systems or exam platforms may require test-takers to log into their account before displaying the exam page. In these cases, the exam password might be mistakenly injected into the login page’s password field. If this happens, delete the injected password and enter the correct username and password for the login page. Once the exam page is displayed, the password will be injected properly.
Submit button is not active
Some exam platforms do not recognize the injected password as valid input until a keyboard action is detected. In this scenario, the test-taker should click into the password field at the end of the injected password, type any letter, and then delete it. This should activate the submit button and allow access to the exam.
The exam indicates an incorrect password
If the password is injected but the exam platform reports it as incorrect, the password in SmarterProctoring may not match the one set in the exam platform. If the exam is being administered via Automated Proctoring or Automated with Review, test-takers should contact support for assistance. For Live Proctoring, the test-taker should contact the live proctor.
Note: The support team and live proctors cannot provide the password directly to you, but they may be able to identify the issue and guide you through next steps.
