Add/Edit Accommodations

A guide to add or edit accommodations to students' testing sessions.

Overview

Adding and updating accommodations is simple within the SmarterProctoring dashboard, and it ensures every student receives the support they need for a successful testing experience.

In this article, you will learn:

  • How to add an accommodation for a student

  • How to edit an accommodation for a student

In order to add or edit an Accommodation, the student must be in a "Needs Proctor" Status.

How to Add an Accommodation

  1. Go to your proctoring Course Dashboard.

  2. Find the exam you need to add accommodations for and click View Exam.

  3. Scroll down to the Student Overview section. Find the student you need to add accommodations for, and select Add Accommodation from the drop down menu on the right.

  4. On the Accommodation page, fill in the necessary fields to meet accommodation needs. When finished, click Continue.

  5. On the Permitted Items page, toggle on/off any additional resources permitted via the accommodation. Click Continue.

  6. On the Notes page, update any notes for the student or proctor. Click Continue.

  7. On the Proctor Settings page you can adjust things like lock down options, proctor types or testing setting. Once you are finished, click Continue.

  8. The Confirmation page will review all changes you made, when finished click Confirm.

  9. Back on the Student Overview you will now see Accommodation listed in the Notes section.

How to Edit an Accommodation

  1. Go to your proctoring Course Dashboard.

  2. Find the exam you need to edit accommodations for and click View Exam.

  3. Scroll down to the Student Overview section. Find the student you need to edit accommodations for, and select Edit Accommodation from the drop down menu on the right.

  4. Navigate through the following screens and adjust the accommodation as needed. Refer to steps 4-8 above if needed.

Please note any accommodation also needs to be created within the LMS as well.
