At the start of onboarding you will see a welcome screen with the exam details and a short welcome video that will help you ensure you are prepared to start your remote proctoring exam session. Once this information has been reviewed, click Continue with Onboarding.
On the Agreements page you will need to acknowledge your consent to the recording of your screen, camera and microphone. There is a link to the privacy policy for review if needed. After review, click Submit.
Note: these agreements can be customized by your educational institution and may vary from the image below.
To Share Your Screen, first click on the Select Your Screen button.
In the popup window, select your Entire Screen, and then click Share.
The next step of Onboarding will require you to Share Your Camera. Select your camera from the dropdown menu, then click Share Camera.
Next you will Share Your Audio. Select your preferred microphone from the dropdown menu, then click Share Audio.
If prompted, speak into your microphone so SmarterProctoring can confirm functionality.
NOTE: To ensure exam integrity, microphones built into headphones or earbuds are not permitted during remote proctoring sessions. Test-takers should select a built-in or external microphone that is not part of a headset or pair of earbuds.
After sharing your audio, you will need to conduct a Speaker Check. Click the button labelled Play Code.
A 4-digit verification code will be presented through your speakers. Enter it in the text field provided, then click Continue.
The following steps will verify your identity with a headshot and valid ID. To complete the Headshot, Center your face within the green oval on the screen. Click Capture Photo.
Follow the below steps to complete the ID Check step of Onboarding.
If your institution accepts multiple types of IDs, select the type of ID you will be presenting via the drop-down menu.
Center your ID within the green box on the screen (vertically or horizontally).
Click the Capture Photo button.
(If Needed) Click No, I need to retake the photo to capture a new image.
Once satisfied with the image click Yes, Continue.
The Room Scan step of Onboarding ensures that you are adhering to testing requirements before the start of the exam session.
Review the Room Scan requirements by clicking Play on the short video.
Acknowledge you understand the requirements by checking the box.
Click Continue.
On the next screen, the room scan will automatically start recording. Complete the scan and then click Stop Room Scan when finished.
If necessary, click Retake Room Scan, otherwise click Continue.
The Rules & Protocols will review things such as: exam details, permitted items, lockdown options, and testing space restrictions. Review the information on each screen and click Continue.
NOTE: The information on these screens is determined by your school and/or instructor and may vary from the images below.
The last page of Onboarding will confirm that all steps have been completed and monitoring has already begun. When ready, click Go To Exam to be redirected to the exam URL.
