Overview
During Onboarding, you may be asked to Connect a Second Camera. This step is designed to enhance exam security and must be completed before your test begins if it has been enabled by the test administrator.

A mobile device (phone or tablet) with a camera
Works with iOS (iPhone, iPad) and Android devices
Reliable internet connection, preferable to have QR Code scanning capabilities
How to Connect Your Device
During onboarding, you will come to a screen asking you to connect your second camera.
Use a mobile device to scan the QR code displayed.
If you cannot scan the code, go to: https://camera.smarterservices.com on the device you are trying to connect.
Click Cannot scan QR code below the QR image and a Device Link Code will be displayed. Enter this code on the mobile device you are trying to connect.
On the mobile device being used for second camera, allow camera access when prompted. Note: Device screen may look different depending on operating system (iOS or Android).
Your second camera feed will now display on your computer screen. Click Continue.
Reference the Second Camera Placement video if needed, check the acknowledgement box, and then click Continue.
Best Practices for Second Camera Placement
For specific directions on how to position your second camera, watch the Second Camera Placement video with visual guidance. Keep these tips in mind:
Power & Battery
Plug in your device during the exam if possible.
If it cannot remain plugged in, ensure it is at least 90% charged.
Positioning & Angle
Place the device in landscape mode (horizontal).
Angle the camera at roughly 45 degrees to your side, showing both your computer screen and work area. (SCREENSHOT)

Environment & Device Settings
Ensure your computer screen and desk are fully visible in the second camera feed.(SCREENSHOT OF GOOD AND BAD)
Place the device out of your reach. Reaching for the phone/tablet during testing may be flagged.
Set the device to silent mode to avoid disruptions.
