How Do I Manually Lock and Unlock Common Area Doors?

Site teams are able to view and control each door’s mode by utilizing SmartRent Manager. This means site team members can control doors remotely, without requiring a PIN, card, or fob to enter — resulting in a more convenient way to control specific doors. To change the door’s mode, each user must have View Access and Update Access permissions.

  1. First, navigate to the Property and select Access from the left menu.

  1. Next, select Doors from the top tab.

  2. Within the Doors tab, there is a chart with the following columns:

  1. Door Name - This column displays the names of the doors as listed in Alloy Access.

  2. Mode - this column depicts the door mode that Alloy Access is currently showing.

  3. Override Duration - this column will display the amount of time an override was chosen.

  4. Door Schedule - column displays whether or not a door schedule is currently overridden. Users can chose to stop an override using this column if desired.

  5. Unlock/Lock - column provides a button for users to lock or unlock the door.

    1. You will see the Unlock option when the door is in PIN or card mode. After selecting unlocked, the door will be free for anyone to push open for the following time periods (1 hour, 2 hours, 5 hours, 8 hours, 1-10 days).

    2. You will see the Lock option when the door is in Unlocked Mode. After selecting Lock, the door will lock, requiring a PIN or card from a member that has access according to the schedule for the times listed above in i.

    3. Doors that are in Unlocked Mode will always be listed first.

This action will override any door intervals and door schedules for the selected amount of time. After the override duration, the door will reset to the original set schedule.

Upon successfully changing the mode of the door, you will see a confirmation message on the screen that reads, Door Mode has Changed to Unlocked/PIN or Card.
