Before adding your Yale lock to the SmartRent system, it must be installed on the door. Mounting and drilling instructions vary by model so always refer to the installation guide that came with your lock. Videos for the most common Yale locks have been included below to help you along the way.

Here are a few key tips when installing your lock:
Once installed, actuate the lock manually to make sure everything moves freely and easily
Close the door and actuate the lock manually to ensure no binding or jamming occurs with the door jamb or strike plate
Ensure the cable from the exterior PIN pad is securely plugged into the interior half of the lock prior to inclusion (the PIN pad will be used to place the lock into inclusion mode)
During assembly, make sure the PIN pad cable does get pinched or interferes with any moving parts
Ensure the green or black Z-Wave chip is fully seated in the lock prior to installing the batteries (there is a socket for the chip inside of the battery compartment)
