Step-by-Step Guide: Electronic Filing in TaxSlayer ProWeb

Before electronically filing a return, you must first select the return type and mark it complete. Follow these steps to ensure a successful e-file submission:

Step 1: Navigate to the E-File Page

  • From the Calculation Summary page, click Continue to proceed to the E-File / Submission page.

  • Select the type of return and choose a refund disbursement method if applicable.

Step 2: Choose a Refund Disbursement Method

If the client is receiving a refund, they can select one of the following options:
Direct Deposit – Refund is deposited into their bank account.
Mailed Check – Refund is sent via check.
Bank Product – Refund is processed through a third-party bank service.

If the client owes a balance, you can enter an electronic payment (direct debit) to schedule a payment. For details on the E-File process, click here.

Step 3: Complete the E-File Information

On the E-File window, enter the necessary details, including:

  • State E-File Information (if applicable)

  • Third-Party Designee Information

  • State ID Details (required in certain states or if using a bank product)

Once all information has been entered, click Save to proceed to the Submission page.

Step 4: Review & Transmit the Return

Before transmitting the return:
✔️ Review all information on the Submission page for accuracy.
✔️ Ensure the return is marked complete.
✔️ Click Transmit to submit the return.

Step 5: Batch Transmitting Returns (Optional)

If you want to transmit multiple returns at once:

  1. From the ProWeb Welcome page, select Transmissions.

  2. Returns marked complete and paid (if applicable) will automatically be listed.

  3. If needed, additional returns can be added to the batch before transmission.

By following these steps, you can ensure a smooth and accurate e-filing process.
