Store Types: Point-Based vs. Gift-Based

Updated over 3 months ago

The Snappy Store offers two types of store setups for admins to reward their users: Point-Based Stores and Gift-Based Stores. Each store type offers unique ways to reward users, tailored to different business needs.

Point-Based Stores 🌟

In a Point-Based Store, admins reward users with points. These points are added to the users' wallets, and they can use them to make purchases within the store.

  • Spending Points: Users can shop for items up to the total amount of points in their wallet.

  • Top-Up Option: If a user wants to purchase something that costs more than their available points, they can top up their wallet using their personal credit card—provided this feature is activated.

    • Flexibility: This store type offers flexibility in spending, allowing users to combine points and personal funds for their purchases.

Gift-Based Stores 🎁

In a Gift-Based Store, admins reward users with gifts instead of points. Each gift corresponds to one item in the store.

  • Redeeming Gifts: Users can purchase items up to the number of gifts in their wallet. Unlike point-based stores, they cannot top up with a personal credit card.

  • One Gift, One Item: Each gift is worth exactly one item, regardless of its price. Prices are not visible to users, making the shopping experience focused on the value of the gifts themselves.

    • Simplicity: This store type offers a straightforward and uniform reward experience, ideal for businesses that want to simplify their reward system.

Set Your Store Type

  1. Select the Customize tab

  2. Advanced Settings (on the left-hand side)

  3. Scroll down and select your store type → Save Changes

Once you launch your store with either a point-based or gift-based model, the store type cannot be changed. We recommend considering which model best aligns with your business goals before launching your store. ✨
