Social media provides a unique opportunity to show off the fun side of your store, whether that is through consistently playful social copywriting or through showing off your fun employees.

Don’t think too hard about what you should and shouldn't post! Your customers know you so just try to represent that personality on your store’s social media pages.

Check out our top tips on local social media copy below!

Inject some of your own personality: Represent the experience customers receive when they are in-store.

Consistent brand voice: You don’t want your customers to think there are 10 different people running your page - they want to create a relationship and trust your page.

Be friendly: Because, duh? It’s nice to be nice :)

Talk about things that are relevant to your local audience: What do you talk about in-store?

Give customers a call-to-action: Direct customers to the store or to a website.

#’s: Hashtags need to be relevant to the post you are promoting.

Here are some topics to inspire you:

  • Staff Members

Celebrate staff members on their birthdays!

  • Local Events

Promote events happening in the area such as local plays or pantomimes, family fun days or local sports teams.

  • Support Local Businesses

Engaging with local businesses increases organic awareness of your store and creates a supportive space online for your local community.

  • Competitions

Fun competitions that families can engage in that pair online and offline activities.

  • Promote Local Areas/Tourist Attractions

  • Celebrate New Products in your Store
