Visual Content is the final piece of a social media post, but it often carries the message.

According to the latest data, the average amount of time spent on social media worldwide is set to hit 147 minutes, or two hours and 27 minutes, a day in 2022. Therefore, customers need to see something engaging, something that will stop them in their tracks in order to read your full local social media post.

There are multiple types of visual content that you can use on social media. Check out our list below to gain some inspiration for your next post!

  • Photography

With today’s technology, smartphones make it super simple to take really good quick videos and images!

    • In-store photography - interior photos, action shots of staff working, serving a customer, etc.

    • Photos of staff - team photos, individual photos, etc.

    • Product photos - these can be sent from a brand or taken in-store, promotional photos of bulk items

    • Photos of your local area or the exterior of your business

  • User Generated Content (UGC)

These can be collected from a competition or if someone posts a photo of a product bought from your business

  • Promotions from HQ

If you want to particularly push a promotion, a repost of an important post that was posted the previous week is fine!

  • Graphics

Promote an event in-store or maybe even create a funny meme!

  • Videos/Gifs
Videos are excellent ways to showcase machines such as coffee or slushie machines or even team members in action - they are a very engaging form of content.

  • Stories
Gifs are a short-form of video content that loop over and over.
