Managing plans effectively ensures consistency across your team while allowing for individualized adjustments. Whether you’re working with a large group or tailoring for specific athletes, the right setup saves time and simplifies your workflow.
You can manage team plans in two ways:
1. Individual Plans from a Master Template
Start by creating a master template for the full team (e.g. a 12-week mesocycle).
Load the template — [learn how here].
Add athletes one by one, renaming each plan to personalize it (e.g. Frank – Mesocycle 1, Tom – Mesocycle 1).
All athletes follow the same base structure, but you can modify task timing, intensity, or duration for each athlete.
Changes apply only to that individual’s plan — no impact on others.
Best for teams needing personalized adjustments within a consistent program.
2. Group Plan with Shared Updates
Create a master template for the team (e.g. Mesocycle 1).
Load the template and add all athletes at once — [learn how here].
Any edits made to the plan will automatically apply to all athletes.
Best for large teams where uniformity and synced updates are the priority.
⚠️ Important
Soma automatically duplicates the most recent version of your master template every time you load it. This means you can edit freely without affecting the original.
However, users cannot be added directly to a master template. This is a safety measure — if users were connected, any edits to the master would instantly update all linked plans, potentially altering progress and data unintentionally.
To protect your structure:
Master templates are user-free by design. When loaded, Soma duplicates them so you can adjust without changing the original.
To edit a master template, go to “My Plans” → “Inactive” tab, find your template, and make changes there.
The next time you load it, your latest edits will be included.
🚨 Deleting Sessions — Data Loss Warning
If you delete a session that has already been completed by a user (or multiple users), all data from that session will be permanently lost.
⚠️ This action cannot be undone. Once a session is deleted, all associated data is unrecoverable.
Following these best practices ensures you can manage and scale team plans with both consistency and flexibility, while protecting critical session data.
