Duplicating a template plan is the fastest way to reuse an existing structure while making small adjustments. This is ideal when you want to keep the same tasks, layouts, and flow but change things like modes, durations, or placements.
How to Duplicate a Master Template
Go to the Inactive tab. (This is where all your master templates are stored).
Find the master template you want to duplicate.
Click the three dots (⋯) next to the plan.
Select Duplicate.
Name your new template.
Give the duplicate a clear name to distinguish it from the original.
Your new master template is now ready.
All tasks, settings, and modes from the original are copied automatically, allowing you to edit the duplicate freely without affecting the original.
How To Load A Template
Click Create Plan.
Name your plan — this could be for an individual athlete or a group.
Save the plan as New Plan.
Choose your template from the list of saved templates.
Customize the plan as needed.
Assign the plan once ready.
💡 Good to know
When you load a MASTER Template, Soma does not assign that template directly to an athlete. Instead, it creates a new copy of the most up-to-date version of the template.
This is important because it means:
You can edit the new plan freely without changing the original template
Athletes cannot be assigned to MASTER Templates (this prevents progress being overwritten)
How it works
MASTER Templates stay user-free by design
Loading a template = Soma creates a new editable copy
To update the MASTER Template itself, go to My Plans → Inactive, find the template, and edit it there
Next time you load it, Soma will include your latest updates automatically
