🤯 The Meta universe and tools are often a labyrinth of possibilities and features that are either accessible or unavailable depending on the version deployed.

Why?

The reason why some business managers ask for a geolocation when creating a Lookalike audience based on website visitors while others do not may depend on the specific tools and features available within the business manager platform being used.

In general, a Custom audience based on website visitors is created by analyzing the behavior and characteristics of visitors to a website and identifying patterns and similarities among them. This information can then be used to create a Lookalike audience that includes people who are likely to share similar traits and behaviors to those website visitors.

If the business manager being used includes features that allow the user to specify a geographic area, such as a specific city or region, when creating a Lookalike audience based on website visitors, then the user may be prompted to enter a geolocation. This would allow the business manager to create a Lookalike audience that includes people who are similar to the website visitors within that specific geographic area.

However, if the business manager being used does not include such features or does not prioritize geographic location as a relevant factor in creating Lookalike audiences based on website visitors, then the user may not be prompted to enter a geolocation.

In summary, the need for a geolocation when creating a Lookalike audience based on website visitors may depend on the specific tools and features available within the business manager being used, as well as the importance of geographic location as a relevant factor in creating the audience.

SOPRISM platform needs the geolocation of your Lookalike to profile your target audience.

This is a fact.

But there are two workarounds to import your Lookalike and profile it via SOPRISM:

  • Share your Lookalike audience with another Meta Business Manager.
Indeed, when you choose to share your Lookalike audience to an external Business Manager, a pop-up will ask you to choose a geolocation. This way, the audience size will appear in the second Business Manager.
👉 If you don't have another Business Manager, contact us via the in-app chat and we will find a solution together.

  • Run a dummy ad by adding a budget but scheduling it for a later date. By leaving the fake ad ON and scheduled, Meta will have to populate it. Once you see the estimated audience size appear, you should be able to find the Lookalike audience on SOPRISM.
👉 Please feel free to contact us via the in-app chat if you are not comfortable with this option.
