The way SOPRISM handles the information to import audiences is the same for Lookalikes and Custom. BUT there is a major differences between how Meta share the information with SOPRISM about Custom audiences.
At the time of writing, we have unfortunately not found a clear answer to the fact that in some cases you can profile a custom audience without going through a lookalike while in other cases you cannot. Although I cannot give you a clear answer as to why, I can nevertheless share some important information.
👉 If, when importing your custom audience into Soprism, you see 'Below 1000' or '1000', you still have the option to profile a custom audience. You just need to wait for it to be further populated before launching your project.

❓Is your Meta Business account verified?
Indeed, it seems that Meta accounts that have gone through verification are more likely to be able to profile custom audiences directly. Make sure to be fully compliant with Meta policies and security restrictions.

❓Do you usually spend a lot of money on ads through Meta?
One of the hypotheses put forward, which has been verified in several cases, is that a Business Manager (Ad account) who spends a lot of money on advertising will be more likely to be able to profile his Custom audience directly in the SOPRISM platform. In this case, Meta shares the audience size with SOPRISM, which allows the profiling process.
We have contacted Meta on several occasions to find out more about the amounts but no clear answer has been given to date.
❓Are you able to use your Custom audience within a Saved audience?
Here I share with you a little test that we discovered through our extensive research. If you have the ability to include your Custom audience in a Saved audience and the size is displayed, you should be able to profile your audience without turning it into a Lookalike audience.
👉 Let me show you step by step the process:
Click on "Create Audience" then "Saved Audience"
Within the Custom audiences section, select the one you wish to profile on SOPRISM
👉 If the data is displayed, you are likely to be able to profile your custom audience directly
👉 If the data is missing, you will have to transform your Custom audience into a Lookalike audience.
