Welcome to SparrowQueue - your new way to efficiently manage in-store prescriptions! This guide outlines the hardware components and setup steps to get SparrowQueue up and running in your pharmacy.

Hardware Setup Overview

The diagram below depicts an ideal implementation of the hardware components used to support the installation of SparrowQueue in-store.

We recommend discussing any hardware requirements you might have with your IT service provider or an AV integrator when purchasing SparrowQueue.

Digital Signage

Displays customer order numbers.

  • Minimum 50" screen size

  • Resolution of at least 1080p

  • HDMI and USB input

  • Wall mount compatibility

Computer

Drives the LED signage, depending on the type.

  • Minimum Intel i5 processor

  • 8GB RAM

  • 256GB SSD

  • HDMI output

  • Wi-Fi capability

  • Compact and lightweight is preferable

Wireless Keyboard

Allows remote control of the computer driving the LED signage.

  • Wireless connectivity (Bluetooth or USB dongle)

  • Compact design

  • Built-in touchpad or mouse compatibility is ideal

'Scripts In' Computer and Monitor

Used at the 'Scripts In' counter to collect customer information and add scripts to the queue.

Computer

  • Minimum Intel i5 processor

  • 8GB RAM

  • 256GB SSD

  • HDMI output

  • Wi-Fi capability

  • Compact and lightweight is preferable

Monitor

  • Between 15"-27" size

  • 1080p resolution

  • Touchscreen capability

  • HDMI and USB input are ideal

Direct Thermal Printer

Prints customer dockets with order numbers and prints pharmacist dockets with script information and preferences.

  • Thermal printing technology

  • USB connectivity (optional)

  • Compatible with standard receipt paper (e.g. 80mm width)

Barcode Scanner

Captures customer data from eligible prescriptions.

  • USB connectivity, capable of scanning 2D barcodes and QR codes

  • High scan speed (at least 30 scans per second)

Receipt Paper

Required for printing customer dockets.

  • 80mm width

  • Thermal paper

  • Compatible with thermal receipt printers


Software Installation and Training

After confirming the installation of all hardware components, a SparrowQueue support representative will:

  • Install SparrowQueue software on designated computers.

  • Configure printer to integrate seamlessly with our software.

  • Conduct a comprehensive training session for your staff on effectively managing the scripts queue.

Preparing for Onboarding

To facilitate a smooth setup, please ensure:

  • All LED signage and computers have been installed and are functional before our training date.

  • Installation and training sessions are scheduled during low-traffic hours as much as possible to minimise disruption.

  • All integral staff are available on the day for in-situ training.
