Publishing an Assignment

After you finish creating your activity, you’ll need to publish it before assigning it.

Step 1: Click Publish

Click the Publish button in the top-right corner of the activity editor.

Step 2: Complete Activity Details

When the publish window opens, you can:

  • Set the activity title

  • Choose the subject(s)

  • Select the language

  • (Optional) Add the activity to a folder

    • This can be a personal folder or a shared team folder

  • (Optional) Make the activity visible in Discover

    • This allows other teachers on your team to find and reuse it from the Discover tab

Step 3: Publish or Publish & Assign

Once everything is filled out, choose one of the following options:

Publish

  • The activity is saved and ready to use later

  • The Publish button will change to Assign

Publish & Assign

  • The activity is published and immediately assigned to a class

When you choose Publish & Assign (or click Assign later), you’ll see a window where you can:

  • Select one or more classrooms

  • Choose the assignment type

  • Set points (if applicable)

Assignment Types

You can assign activities as Practice or Assessment.

Practice:

  • Students receive instant feedback

  • Students can see their score before submitting

Assessment:

  • Students see their score only after submitting

  • Additional controls are available

Assessment Settings (Optional)

If you choose Assessment, you will see Assessment Settings options.

The rest of the assigning process works the same as a practice assignment.

  • Available immediately
The assessment opens as soon as it is assigned.

  • Time limit
Limits how long students have to complete the assignment. When time runs out, the assessment auto-submits with the student’s current progress.

  • Browser lock
If a student switches tabs a set number of times, the assessment will close and submit automatically.

The rest of the assigning process works the same as a practice assignment.
