Let's be direct: stablecoins don't get a pass on any of it. π‘οΈ
The same checks apply βοΈ
Tips are subject to the same requirements as every other payment on Spenny Piggy:
π Identity verification
βοΈ Anti-money-laundering checks
π Sanctions screening
π« Fraud prevention and risk monitoring
Our payment provider applies its own compliance and risk checks on top.
If you've read that crypto is a way around this sort of thing β not here, and you wouldn't want to be on a platform where it was. Those checks are exactly why our payments stay switched on. π·
What creators need to complete π
1. Spenny Piggy verification β social account plus passport β Verifying Your Identity (KYC) ππ·
2. Any additional onboarding required by our payment provider. Tips run on separate infrastructure with its own requirements.
β οΈ Both are needed.
For supporters π
You're tipping a verified creator. Every creator here has been identity-checked β social account plus passport, manually reviewed by a person β before they could receive a penny. β
You don't need a wallet, and you're not managing crypto.
β οΈ Payments may be subject to checks. Occasionally one needs additional verification before it clears. That's the system working, not a fault.
Staying safe π¨
π© Never send crypto to an address someone DMs you. Real creators here don't ask for that β the Tip button is on their profile.
π© Check the address bar. Fake sites are the oldest trick there is.
π© Nobody from Spenny Piggy will ever ask for your password, a recovery phrase, or wallet keys.
π© If a "creator" asks you to tip somewhere else, it isn't them. Report it. π¨
See Scams & Staying Safe.
Why we're this careful π
Every check here exists for one reason: so the platform keeps working.
Payment providers pull support from platforms that get this wrong, and creators lose their income overnight with no warning. The checks are unglamorous, occasionally annoying, and the reason nobody here has woken up to a frozen account. π‘οΈ
Common questions π€
"Is crypto exempt from ID checks?"
No. Same KYC, AML, sanctions and fraud checks as every other payment here.
"Do I need to verify again for Tips?"
Your Spenny Piggy verification is done once. Our payment provider has its own onboarding on top of that. π
"Someone DM'd me a wallet address."
That isn't how this works, and it almost certainly isn't them. Don't send anything. Report it. π¨
TL;DR π―
Same KYC, AML, sanctions and fraud checks as everything else βοΈ
Creators need both SP verification and provider onboarding π
Supporters are tipping a verified creator β
Never send crypto to a DM'd address. Ever. π¨
The checks are why the payments stay on π‘οΈ
