Security & Your Password πŸ”

How to keep your account secure, what we'll never ask for, and what to do if something looks wrong.

Written by 🐽 Support Piggy 🐽

Your account is your income. Ten minutes here protects it. πŸ”

The one rule πŸ”‘

Use a password you don't use anywhere else.

Especially not the one on your socials β€” because that's the account we verified you against, and the two together are everything someone would need.

Most account compromises aren't clever hacks. They're a password reused from a site that got breached years ago, still sitting in a list someone bought.

What a good password looks like πŸ’ͺ

βœ… Long beats complicated. Three or four unrelated words is stronger than eight characters of symbols, and you'll actually remember it.
βœ… Unique to this account
βœ… Not your creator name, birthday, pet, or anything on your public profile
πŸ” Use a password manager if you can. Then you never have to remember any of them.

Changing your password βš™οΈ

Settings β†’ change password. You'll need your current one.

Change it immediately if:

⚠️ You've used it anywhere else and that site was breached
⚠️ You've shared it with anyone, for any reason
⚠️ You've logged in on a shared or public computer
⚠️ Anything about your account looks off

What we will never ask you for 🚫

We will never ask for your password. Not by email, not by DM, not in live chat, not on a phone call. Nobody legitimate ever will.

We'll also never ask for:

🚫 Your full card number
🚫 Your bank login details
🚫 A crypto wallet recovery phrase or private keys
🚫 Remote access to your computer
🚫 A payment to "unlock", "verify" or "release" your account

Anyone asking for any of these is not us. Report it through the live chat. 🚨

Never share your login πŸ™…

Not with a manager. Not with an editor. Not with a partner. Not with someone offering to grow your account.

Whoever has your login controls your income β€” your payout details, your content, your supporters. We've seen how that ends, and it's never recoverable quickly. 🚫

If someone helps you run your account, that's a conversation about what you send them, not about handing over access.

Recognising a fake 🎣

🚩 Urgency β€” "your account will be closed in 24 hours"
🚩 A link instead of an instruction β€” always navigate there yourself, typed into the address bar
🚩 Slightly wrong web addresses β€” check every character
🚩 Contact from anywhere but the live chat on our site β€” that's the only place real support happens
🚩 Anyone asking you to move a conversation to Telegram, WhatsApp or email

When in doubt, don't click. Come to the chat bubble and ask. We'd much rather answer a false alarm. πŸ’¬

Notifications you can't switch off πŸ””

Security and account alerts always stay on. You can turn off sales and marketing notifications, but not these.

If your password changes, your email changes, or something needs attention on your account, you get told. That's how you find out early rather than after the fact. βœ…

Keep the email on your account current β€” it's where these land.

Your email address πŸ“§

It's the key to everything, because it's where password resets go.

βœ… Secure it properly β€” long unique password, and two-factor authentication if your email provider offers it
βœ… Keep it up to date here. Changing it sends a confirmation to the new address; click the link or the change doesn't stick
⚠️ Lost access to your email? Contact support. Don't create a second account β€” that causes verification and payout problems that take days to unpick

If you think you've been compromised 🚨

In this order, right now:

1. Change your password β€” immediately, before anything else
2. Check your payout details in Stripe haven't been altered
3. Check your listings for anything you didn't publish
4. Message us through the live chat
5. Change your email password too if you think that's been reached

Tell us fast. The sooner we know, the more we can do β€” and you won't be judged. These people are extremely good at this, and it happens to careful, sensible creators constantly. πŸ’¬

What we do on our side πŸ›‘οΈ

πŸ” Passwords are stored encrypted β€” nobody here can read yours
πŸ’³ Card details never touch our servers β€” they're handled by our payment processor
🏦 Bank details are held by Stripe, not us
πŸ” Continuous monitoring for unusual account and payment activity
πŸ“‹ Every payment screened before it's processed

Common questions πŸ€”

"Is there two-factor authentication?"
Check your settings for the current options. Where 2FA is available, turn it on β€” it's the single biggest upgrade to your account security after a unique password.

"I've forgotten my password."
Use the reset link on the login page. If the email doesn't arrive, check spam, then confirm you're using the address you signed up with.

"I keep getting logged out."
Usually browser cookie settings. Try a different browser to confirm, then re-enable cookies for the site.

"Someone is using my content or pretending to be me."
Report it urgently β€” see Impersonation & Reporting. 🚨

"Can I have two accounts?"
No. One person, one creator account.

TL;DR 🎯

  1. A unique password, not the one on your socials πŸ”

  2. We will never ask for it. Nobody legitimate will.

  3. Never share your login β€” with anyone, for any reason 🚫

  4. Security alerts can't be switched off. Keep your email current πŸ””

  5. Think you've been compromised? Change your password, then message us 🚨

Your account is your income. Lock it properly. πŸ”πŸ·
