hank you so much for reaching out to us at Splash Sports! We’re happy to explain how Double Pick Days work — this optional setting can add an exciting twist to your contest.
🏀 What Is a Double Pick Day?
On Double Pick Days, entrants must select two teams instead of one
To advance, both teams must win — if either loses, the entrant is eliminated
This adds a layer of strategy and difficulty, especially later in the tournament- Participants have flexibility in distributing their picks, such as selecting two teams on the same day (e.g., Day 7 or Day 8) or spreading one pick across two consecutive days.
💡 Why Use It?
Popular in larger contests
Helps prevent multiple winners by increasing the challenge
Encourages strategic planning across multiple slates- Increases participant engagement by creating opportunities for varied strategic choices
Highlights a contest's complexity, offering a unique challenge to seasoned players
Commissioner Permissions for Editing Double-Pick Weeks
Commissioners have distinct permissions for managing Double Pick Days in different stages of a contest:
No Entries Made: All settings are editable.
Entries Made but Contest Not Started: Editable up to 48 hours before the first game; commissioners can add new Double Pick Days but cannot adjust the first week.
After Contest Start: Settings for Double Pick Days become locked.
Self-Managed Contests: Settings are editable only for future weeks that haven’t passed. This ensures fair play and consistency throughout the contest. Tips for Success in a Survivor Pool
