Running your own contest on Splash Sports takes just a few minutes. Here's how to set one up from scratch.
Before You Start
To run a real-money contest, your account must be verified (KYC) and you must be in an eligible state. See Verifying Your Splash Account.
To run an Entertainment-Only (self-managed) contest, no verification is required — available in all 50 US states and Canada.
Finalize your settings before sending invites — some settings can't be changed after participants join.
How to Create a Contest
Log in at app.splashsports.com
Go to the Commissioner tab and click Create Contest, or go directly to app.splashsports.com/contest/create
Choose your payment type:
Splash handles payments — real-money contest where Splash collects entry fees and distributes prizes. You earn 5% of the rake as commissioner rewards.
I'll collect entries and handle payments on my own — self-managed/Entertainment-Only contest. You handle fees and payouts externally.
Select your sport and format — NFL, NBA, NCAAB, Golf, and more. Formats include Pick X, Tiers, Survivor, Squares, Margin, and more.
Customize your settings:
Entry fee and number of entries allowed
Entry deadline
Prize payout structure
Tiebreaker options
Entry lives (for Survivor contests)
Public or private visibility
Name your contest — give it a descriptive title your participants will recognise
Click Create Contest — you'll get a shareable invite link immediately
Inviting Your Members
Once your contest is live, go to Commissioner tab → Active → Manage → Invites Manager to share your invite link, import past member lists, or send invites directly through Splash. See How to Invite Members to Your Contest.
Restarting a Past Contest
If you've run a contest before, you can restart it without building from scratch. Go to Commissioner tab → Final, find your past contest, and click Restart. Your settings carry over and you just need to confirm, save, and send new invites.
